A Message from President Peterson
As Val and I settle into Georgia Tech, we want to take a moment to thank you, our alumni and friends, for all that you do on behalf of the Institute. We have received a warm Georgia Tech welcome, whether on campus or traveling around Georgia and across the country to visit with alumni and friends. It is because of you—your involvement, your philanthropic support, and your dedication to Tech—that this institution continues to thrive and reach new heights.
The role of alumni and friends in the life of Georgia Tech is paramount to our continued success. The strength of the Institute lies within its people—students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends—and I look forward to getting to know you, the devoted individuals who collectively form Georgia Tech.
As we look toward a promising future, we face the realities of reduced state funding. We must appeal to the generosity of our alumni and friends so that we may continue to excel, to provide extraordinary students with the financial support necessary to earn a Georgia Tech degree, and to provide preeminent faculty scholars with the resources required for innovative research for the betterment of humankind. Campaign Georgia Tech will provide the support necessary for the Institute to realize its greatest aspirations. I invite you to take a moment to review the priorities and needs of the Institute that are highlighted on the Development Web site. Please consider how you can make a lasting impact on Georgia Tech.
Sincerely,

G.P. "Bud" Peterson
President, Georgia Institute of Technology
